The Marketing Society proudly announces the addition of three dynamic and accomplished marketing leaders to its board, hailing from prestigious brands including Volkswagen, Red Bull, and Al Masaood. The appointments underscore the Society's commitment to attracting top-tier talent and curating a world-class community of marketers within the Society.
The community aims to inspire, accelerate, and unite the world’s smartest marketers, helping them to do well in their careers, and to do good in their organizations, the economy, and society. With over 400 members in the UAE, the Society serves as a hub for marketing professionals who are dedicated to advancing their skills, shaping the industry’s future, and making a positive impact on a global and local scale.
Marwa Kaabour, Group Head of Marketing and Corporate Communication, Al Masaood. A CMO-level executive with 25+ years’ experience in establishing and leading strategic marketing communications for global and regional brands in the Middle East. Among Marwa’s many achievements, she is an expert in establishing marketing and communication functions from scratch for companies and government entities. Marwa also launched her first book in 2023 – ‘Marketing & Communications On The Job’.
Anja Petrovski, Marketing and PR Director at Volkswagen Middle East. A seasoned marketer with over 17 years of experience in the advertising industry, Anja’s expertise lies in digital marketing, content marketing, social media, and advertising. Having made history as the first female Marketing Director of Volkswagen Middle East, where she is responsible for developing and executing the brand’s marketing strategy. Anja is dedicated to ensuring that Volkswagen’s brand message resonates with the target customer segment in the region.
Aly Tawfik, Area Marketing Director – Middle East, Africa, India, Turkey, CIS and West Asia, Red Bull. With over 20 years of experience in the marketing industry, Aly has worked on many leading brands at Henkel, Mars, and Coca-Cola. Currently overseeing teams in 21 diverse markets, he trusts the universal science of marketing and puts emphasis on network effects, and shaping organizations as a learning community to achieve impact and efficiency at scale. Aly is also a member of the Industry Advisory Board for the Edinburgh Business School in Dubai and an instructor of Marketing at the School of Business of the American University in Cairo (Executive Education). Additionally, he advises start-ups and scale-up businesses such as Play Verto and others.
Sophie Devonshire, CEO of The Marketing Society, shared her excitement for the Society's new board members, saying, "As The Marketing Society UAE continues to evolve as our fastest growing hub globally, we are thrilled to welcome these exceptional individuals to our board. As the Society welcomes its new additions, it also bids farewell and expresses gratitude to outgoing board members whose term has come to an end. All three have made significant contributions.
