Ali has been working with Publicis Groupe for over six years between Beirut and Dubai. In his current role, he drives the performance strategy for the Department of Culture & Tourism of Abu Dhabi across all touchpoints, and oversees a team of performance specialists to ensure best-in-class campaign management and measurement.
Ali is a strong believer in automation and in data-driven decision-making that allows partners to optimize and grow their business efforts.
Why did you join this industry?
I am a dynamic person, always on the lookout for new trends. Back then, digital media was on the rise and I was just getting on the bandwagon.
How did you land your first job?
Seven years ago, my friends and I were sitting in a coffee shop in Beirut when one of the region’s digital pioneers joined us. The casual conversation turned into a discussion about the industry, and my excitement landed me an internship that evolved into a full-time job.
Who do you look up to?
I would say all working moms.
What’s the best advice you have received so far?
Treat people how they want to be treated.

If you want to keep on learning, never stop being curious and never stop asking questions.
How do you feel about the stigma sometimes associated with Millennials and Gen Z?
It doesn’t bother me. At the end of the day, it is not a choice; so, whether it is right or wrong, what’s important is to rise above it. Focus on education, empower others, and give back.
What do you think you specifically bring to the organization you work for?
I think I bring a mix of experience, vision, and humor. All three are equally important in the kind of job we’re in.
What’s the most valuable lesson you’ve learned at work?
To be positive and enthusiastic because, especially at tough times, it is the most needed energy for you and for people around you.

The massive exposure to ideas, to trends, to people…
What’s the most frustrating thing about your job?
The iOS 14 conversation I keep having.
If not this, what would you be doing?
I would be following my dream of becoming a football manager.
Would you start your own venture in the future?
I have tried twice before and I have a couple of ideas for the future already. So, I would say definitely yes.
