The Immortal Awards announced that Big Kahuna Films, a creative production house with offices in Dubai, Riyadh, and Beirut, is continuing its sponsorship of the MEA jury for the 2023 competition. The continued partnership reinforces the pair's commitment to highlighting and showcasing the region’s best creative projects, companies, and individuals to a global audience.
The Immortal Awards introduced the regional jury days in 2020 to ensure that creativity from across the globe is judged properly and equally, with locally based creatives – who have intimate knowledge of the market and understand its cultural nuances – selecting the best work to go through to the global, final round of judging. Last year saw the MEA jury come together and judge in person for the first time ever when Big Kahuna Films hosted the jury day in October. The regional jury selected six projects to qualify for the global round as MEA Finalists, with Impact BBDO’s Ali Rez then joining the global jury to give the region an equal voice in the final round. The continued partnership means that The Immortal Awards will return to the region this year, again judging the regional MEA jury in partnership with Big Kahuna Films.
Eddy Rizk, CEO at Big Kahuna Films, comments, "Big Kahuna Films has played a major role in the regional production scene from its early days, by actively participating to its formation, growth, and maturation; catering to the fast-paced evolvement and demands of the creative industry. In our continuous endeavor to showcase and recognize global creatives from the region, we are thrilled to be continuing our partnership with LBB by sponsoring The Immortal Awards for the second consecutive year to further help shape and commemorate the great work that this ever-growing market is producing.
Paul Monan, Awards Director, adds, "Since launching our regional MEA jury in 2020, we've been blown away by the quality of the creative ideas that we've seen. This continued partnership lets us continue giving many more around the world the opportunity to see this work, and we're delighted that Eddy and the Big Kahuna Films team are partnering with us once more. We're excited to see this year's work in the competition and can't wait to be back on the ground, judging in person, later this year."
