Tina started her career with Omnicom Media Group in Beirut, supporting and working across multiple PHD MENA clients such as Arla, Vileda, Lindt, and VWG.
As a top performer, she relocated to PHD Dubai to become an integral member of the VWG account (Audi, Volkswagen, Porsche, and Bentley). As a senior planner, she proactively responds to her client needs by providing them with rationales in line with their objectives, monitors competitive activity, and delivers competitive reviews on a monthly basis. She manages all financial commitment-related matters across all accounts handled. She works closely with specialized internal units to deliver solid plans and smooth campaign rollouts. Tina also has an outstanding relationship with external partners such as creative agencies, suppliers, and global associates. Open and courageous, she fits into PHD’s values and has a keen thirst for learning. Her ‘client’s best interest’ is her motto.
Why did you choose this career path?
Choosing a career path is the most challenging thing a person can face. We’ve all been through it at a certain age where we ask ourselves, “What will I become when I grow up?”. The marketing world has always fascinated me. It’s trendy, fast-paced, and requires constant creativity and imagination.
How did you land this job?
Straight out of college, to an interview, to becoming a senior media planner at PHD Dubai. I ventured into the media industry with resilience. Being one of the most reputable media groups in the world, Omnicom Media Group is every marketing student’s post-college dream job.
How do you compare your work life vs what you imagined it would be?
Given my strong work ethic from my school days, I have always imagined myself being a positive contributor to any company I would end up working for, and I always knew it would be challenging. That image became real because of my constant desire for perfectionism and the hard work needed to succeed in this job.
What do you wish you had been told before you started working?
Good is never good enough. Always strive for better and work harder.
What’s the best thing someone could tell you about your work?
The best thing is that my job not only adds value to my company but also my function adds value to our business partners, which ultimately makes it even more satisfying.
What’s the worst thing someone could tell you about your work?
The worst thing someone could tell me about my work is that it has no added value because I take pride in doing work that positively impacts others. However, I understand constructive feedback can help people improve, and I’m always open to suggestions.
What’s the most valuable lesson you have learned at work so far?
Client satisfaction doesn’t come easily – dedication and passion are key to success.
Who’s your role model?
To me, a role model is not someone without imperfections but a person who rises above difficulties and thrives regardless. Young as she is, I am inspired by Malala. Her fearless nature and bold ideas invoke change in the hearts of people across the world.
If not this, what would you be doing?
Another passion of mine is giving back to society and making a strong environmental impact. One of my dreams is to help empower women and aid them in seeing there is always a path to success. Child support is another area that I’d like to tackle.
What do you see yourself doing in 10 years?
In 10 years, given my constant desire to give back to others around me, I see myself establishing my own NGO.
