Why did you choose this career path?
As a perceptive, analytical, and detail-oriented individual, I enjoy taking on challenges involving problem-solving techniques that drive productivity in the workplace and business growth for clients. I have always found satisfaction in developing solutions for clients and communicating technical and business needs with internal and external teams.
How did you land this job?
I was introduced to Annalect two years back, through a referral from my previous university professor and an Annalect colleague. Before this role, while studying for my master’s degree in data analytics, I had interviewed for a data analyst internship position based in our Beirut offices. Instead, I was offered a full-time data analyst position following a series of interviews. I transferred to our Dubai offices a year later as a senior solutions consultant.
How do you compare your work life vs what you imagined it would be?
I imagined that my goal would be to work on projects and research that contribute to the advancements of the regional data science landscape. In my current working life, I remind myself of this goal as a target to achieve every day.
What do you wish you had been told before you started working?
a) We should always make sure that results align with business needs and objectives.
b) Always refer back to the business question when blocked.
c) Look into building the simplest and most effective solution that answers business needs.
What is the best thing someone could tell you about your work?
I believe the best thing that someone could say about my work is how well I take responsibility and manage projects across internal and external teams, and the business value that my effort brings to the company.
What is the worst thing someone could tell you about your work?
The worst thing that someone could say about my work is that it is not driving business value to clients and to the company.
What’s the most valuable lesson you have learned at work so far?
The most valuable lesson I have learned so far throughout my career is that we do not have to know all the answers for a solution since answers are unlocked as projects mature. Therefore, we should be confident and brave enough to take on projects even when the path is not crystal clear.
Who’s your role model?
For me, this person is my grandmother. She has a heart of gold and is a fabulous caregiver. She taught me to be respectful, generous, and not self-centered.
If not this, what would you be doing?
Although I am passionate about data-related disciplines, becoming a veterinary surgeon has always been an aspiration.
What do you see yourself doing in 10 years?
I’d want to be putting my skills to good use and benefit the regional landscape when it comes to industries such as healthcare, mental health, and animal welfare.
