The Clio Awards have announced their winners and shortlists for 2023, and the Middle East has yet again performed well, picking up 18 Clio statues, 17 of which going to the UAE.
Impact BBDO leads the pack with a Gold and two Bronzes for their latest AnNahar “Newspapers Inside the Newspaper Edition” campaign, as well as a Silver with “Schoolgirl Newscasters” for EBM.
Horizon FCB has also picked up a Gold, along with 3 Bronzes for “Breakchains with Blockchains.”
Publicis Middle East follows with 2 Silvers and 3 Bronzes for their Jeep poster campaign, while FP7 McCann wins a Silver with "The Heinzjack" for Heinz Arabia and a Bronze for "Wall Street Balls' for the Testicular Cancer Society; incidentally, Heinz gets also a Bronze, this time with Wunderman Thompson for "The Unstainable Thobe." Lastly, Havas Middle East grabs 2 Bronzes with "Adidas Superstar Ravi's" for Adidas.
Of note, Wunderman Thompson makes the sole shortlisted entry from KSA with "The Subconscious Order" for HungerStation.
Clio Awards is one of the premier international awards competitions for the creative industry. Founded in 1959 to celebrate creative excellence in advertising, it honors the work and talent at the forefront of the industry in a variety of specialized fields.
The 63rd annual Clio Awards will be held on April 25 at Gotham Hall, New York City, hosted by Anthony Andersen. Grand Clio winners for the year will also be announced that evening – both Impact BBDO and Horizon FCB are in contention for the Grand award with their Gold Clio winners.
