Like every year, the MENA Effie Awards revealed the winners for their 13th edition over an exquisite gala ceremony. This year witnessed over 100 winners across 42 categories from a batch of 600+ entries.

The gala, held at the Armani Pavilion, Burj Khalifa, Dubai, witnessed an audience of over 1200 industry professionals and was presented under the theme of the ‘Modern Masquerade.’

Under the stars, the gala shadowed in mystery, excitement, and glamour kickstarted with an opening from the organizing company, NordStella. “As someone who has been hosting and organizing the MENA Effies for over 13 years now, I want to take this moment and congratulate my fellow industry professionals who made it as the winners tonight. I also want to take this opportunity to announce that from this year on, NordStella – a brand new venture and a subsidiary of Akama Holding will be taking over, to continue the amazing Effie Journey and aim for the stars in the event management sector,” said Sahar Rafique, Managing Director at NordStella Events.

Shining bright at the Effie’s this year, the UAE Government Media Office bagged the Grand Prix for its campaign, “The Warm Winter Livestream.’ Along with nine golds, two silvers, and one bronze.

Leo Burnett Dubai took home the ‘Most Effective Advertising Agency Office’ and the ‘Most Effective Network Agency Office’ awards this year. Commenting on the win, Bassel Kakish, Chief Executive Officer at Publicis Groupe ME & Turkey said, “When we have great talent working behind the curtains, this recognition is what we get.” The agency network also distinguished itself with 127 winning campaigns across 39 categories.

 

OMD UAE also distinguished itself this year with the ‘Most Effective Media Agency Office’ award. Saleh Ghazal, CEO at OMD MENA told Communicate, “This is the effort of all the markets that are working collectively day and night to deliver to our client’s business objectives. It is because of our clients, their mentality, and the way in which they operate that we were on the stage tonight.”
