The Facebook Awards, formerly the Facebook Studio Awards, celebrate top creative work on Facebook and, for the first time this year, on Instagram too. “Winning work doesn’t just wow audiences, though. It drives businesses results,” says the company in a statement. That’s why brands and agencies that submit their work get an opportunity to receive international recognition industry, members including members of Facebook’s Creative Council.

Submissions are open until April 1, 2015, and winners will be announced later this summer. This year’s Facebook’s Awards has added four new categories as well opened the platform to Instagram campaigns.

New categories

This year’s Facebook Awards feature four additional categories. The four new categories are:

  1. Social Technology: recognizes the best technology integration or application built with Facebook
  2. Media Strategy: recognizes creative and effective use of media on Facebook using insights, data and targeting to inform strategy and drive business results
  3. Facebook for Good:  recognizes excellence in campaigns created for the good
  4. New Frontiers: recognizes excellence in campaigns for high-growth markets, including India, Southeast Asia, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East

The other categories, which remain the same, are:

  1. Integrated Campaign: Recognizes excellence in telling a cohesive campaign story across multiple channel
  2. Craft: Recognizes excellence in film, photography, copywriting, user experience and/or sequencing

Instagram campaigns

Historically, the Facebook Awards considered campaigns published on Facebook only. This year, understandably, the awards will also consider work on Instagram, under the Craft category.

The Facebook Awards are open to campaigns that ran between February 1, 2014 and March 31, 2015. Original work can be in any language, but submissions must be in English. To submit a campaign for review and for more details on voting criteria and timing, visit the Facebook Awards website.
